t BRAC, as one of the leading providers of financial services for the poor, we acknowledge the importance of not only help to realise the goal of full financial inclusion but also visibly support this agenda both at the national and international level. Hence, around this year’s Financial Inclusion Week theme of keeping clients first in a digital world, BRAC participation was the following: 

- Dr. Jim Yong Kim, the President of the World Bank and World Bank Chief Economist Paul Romer, visited the bKash Head Office in Dhaka on Monday, October 17 where they were hosted by the leadership of BRAC and bKash and explored ways technology can be integrated to achieve full financial inclusion in Bangladesh. *Note: Though not organised as part of FI2020 week but was fortuitously during the same week*


--  BRAC's representation at Digital World 2016 - an international ICT fair on behalf of the Microcredit Regulatory Authority from October 19-21, 2016 where showcased how innovative digital practices are being integrated into microfinance and BRAC’s journey towards digitalisation with focus on our software-based operations, mobile money usage via bKash, Android tablet-based instalment collection, customer service assistance for clients via Android applications and call centre services.

 In the following week, we also look forward to welcoming the Executive Vice Chairman of the Microcredit Regulatory Authority to visit our field operations and witness some of the changes and innovations that are happening within the microfinance sector and discuss how regulation may help to advance the agenda of promoting financial inclusion for all in Bangladesh.
